Food production is the biggest contributor to climate change, but one third of all food is wasted. Toast Ale wants to change this. We helped Toast redefine their message and visual identity system, putting the brand’s core mission front and centre. The new identity leads on the message ‘Here’s To Change’ – a shift in emphasis from the existing ‘Brewed with Bread’ tagline – that leans into the more sociable side of the Toast name.







RAISE A TOAST. SAVE THE WORLD.
The new tagline sits alongside a redesigned logo – a tightly-condensed wordmark that symbolises collaboration, unity and the clinking glasses of toasting. This is enclosed in a circle device to express at once the circularity of the brand’s product, the head of a pint of beer, and even the planet itself. On pack, the logo is accompanied by clear and bold colour coding to aid navigation and increase taste cues, while expressive tasting notes are brought that integrate the brand’s product with its purpose.


And of course, for Toast, purpose and product are perfectly intertwined, as all its profits help to fund charities that are fixing the food system. The new branding and messaging puts this planet-saving potential front and centre, creating a motivational call to action for this critical mission of saving the planet over a pint.
